FIU Football Season Opener to Air on ESPNU

Conference USA announced on Wednesday a new multi-year agreement for a comprehensive national television package with four leading outlets; ESPN, CBS Sports Network, the American Sports Network (ASN) and beIN SPORTS. As part of the package, FIU's season opener set for Thursday, Sept. 1, versus Indiana, will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Thursday, Sept. 1; Indiana at FIU (ESPNU); 7:30 p.m. ET

An ESPN network will televise its 12th consecutive C-USA Football Championship game in 2016 and 2017. Additionally, ESPN will provide season-long coverage of the league, airing five regular-season football games this season and in 2017 across its networks.

The complete C-USA football television schedule will be announced next week.

The 2016 FIU football season will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 1, when the Panthers host the Indiana Hoosiers.


FIU's 2016 schedule is highlighted with games against Miami Beach Bowl and 2016 C-USA champion WKU, R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl champion Louisiana Tech, St. Petersburg Bowl champion Marshall, Popeyes Bahama Bowl participant Middle Tennessee, and New Era Pinstripe Bowl participant Indiana. In addition, the Panthers will face Maryland, Massachusetts, UCF, Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Charlotte and Old Dominion.
